AFRIEF Confirms Prof. Ahmad Bello Dogarawa as Speaker at the High-Level Virtual Health Infrastructure Summit 2026
The Africa Islamic Economic Forum (AFRIEF) is pleased to announce that Professor Ahmad Bello Dogarawa, Ph.D., has confirmed his participation as a Speaker at the forthcoming High-Level Virtual Health Infrastructure Summit, scheduled to hold virtually on Thursday, 12th February 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
Prof. Dogarawa will deliver a featured presentation on the topic: “Innovative Islamic Financing Models for Health Infrastructure: Lessons for African Policymakers and Investors.”
The Summit is being convened under the auspices of the Africa Islamic Economic Forum (AFRIEF) and aligns with the aspirations of AU Agenda 2063 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). It will bring together senior policymakers, development finance institutions, investors, scholars, and practitioners to explore practical solutions for strengthening Africa’s healthcare infrastructure.
About the Speaker
Professor Ahmad Bello Dogarawa is a renowned scholar and thought leader in Islamic finance, ethical economics, and development policy. He is a Professor in the Department of Accounting at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Nigeria, and has held several academic leadership positions, including Head of Department of Accounting and Deputy Dean of the ABU Business School.
He holds a Ph.D. in Accounting and Finance, alongside advanced degrees in banking, finance, and business administration, and has also received formal training in Islamic economics and Islamic religious sciences from Al-Azhar University, Cairo. Prof. Dogarawa is widely respected for his interdisciplinary approach that bridges faith-based economic principles with contemporary development challenges.
A prolific academic, Prof. Dogarawa has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, books, and policy papers on Islamic banking and finance, zakat and waqf institutions, poverty alleviation, investment, and sustainable development. His book Introduction to Islamic Finance is widely referenced by students and practitioners across Africa.
Beyond academia, he has served on advisory boards and provided consultancy services to financial institutions, development organizations, and policy platforms. He is also actively engaged in public education and capacity-building initiatives across Nigeria and internationally, advocating for ethical, inclusive, and impact-driven financing models.
AFRIEF warmly welcomes Prof. Dogarawa’s participation and looks forward to the depth of insight and practical perspectives he will bring to discussions on mobilizing Islamic finance for sustainable health infrastructure development in Africa.
