Why The Islamic Economist Exists
Africa does not suffer from a lack of economic advice. It suffers from a lack of moral courage.
For decades, our economies have been shaped by imported ideologies that promise efficiency while delivering inequality, growth while eroding dignity, and development while entrenching dependency. The Islamic Economist exists because silence has become complicity.
We reject the fiction that economics is neutral. Every economic system reflects moral choices—about power, risk, wealth, and human worth. Islamic Economics is not a niche or a financial accessory; it is a moral economy grounded in justice, trust, and shared responsibility.
This platform is unapologetic in its stance:
Our commitment is not cosmetic reform, but systemic transformation rooted in Islamic ethical principles and African realities.
The Islamic Economist is a platform for thinkers, builders, policymakers, and activists who refuse to accept injustice as inevitable.
This is not commentary for comfort. It is a call to clarity, courage, and change.
